Moments of soul-searching, self-discovery, people entirely too intelligent and insightful for their own good (Chloe), this ep had all the richness and multi-leveled texture for which I have always liked this show, and which I’ve been keenly missing this season. And Durance ACTED!!!! …that moment when she looked Oliver in the eye at the end and said “I’m NEVER giving up on you” was about as real as it gets. Makes one wonder whether the reason her acting is usually so bad on this show may be that she just ain’t got it with Welling. Who knows? |
(I cut down some of the words of the above)
Very true words here. An excellent episode… I haven’t been that excited watching Smallville in awhile, and I also forgot what it felt like to have that feeling of pure excitement during Smallvile. I’m showing this episode to my friends and fam who laugh as they’ve watched and make good points when I say I’m a fan but that episode defined exactly why I’m a fan! Proving them wrong baby lol! The feeling of ’superhero’ ran through this episode the huge mystery of the ‘game’ to get oliver back on his feet. T
Justin Hartley and Erika Durance a wonderful performance! Durance Acted…and that is the big question…what is the reason for her usual performance? Is it that she wasn’t given such solid lines/story in the past or is it she just ‘ain’t got it with Welling?’ As I was digging her on Friday.

It was great to have some light shined on Green Arrow (Oliver Queen) it was great to watch him find his way back. Even more fantastic to see Chloe Ms. Watchtower, prove what all of us Chloe fans have already known, that she is looking out for them. She is such a fantastic character. She can be everything to everyone. (Sad some are calculating screen time…I mean the show is Smallville….not ‘Clark’ there’s other characters walking around affecting his life. The show is good because we’ve been exposed to other characters lives and emotions connecting to him.)
Chole’s a hero in her own right. I just wish there was more of her and with last week I’m sure I won’t be disappointed. Clark and Oliver at the end on the roof…i always thought superheros had the best view…I missed their friendship. it’s nice to see them…the characters are stronger together. (even the actors)
Great acting on Justin Hartley and Allison Mack, kudos to the writers who did the phenomenal twist of Chloe being behind it all. I was honestly surprised…in a great way where I smiled like a goofy kid.
I like the balance as well…a little Lois and Clark time…I’m not a fan but I’m sure it satisfies those viewers who want Clark and Lois and then a little extra characters, action and story for those wanting to come full circle with Smallville like we have in the past. (fans for eva’ lol)
I noticed a lot of people are upset with the ‘inaccuracy’.. the show’s called smallville…it’s their own version, t heir own invention…inspired by the story of Superman. if you want the real story you’re going to have to head to it’s roots it’s not going to be in Smallville. It’s the writers perceptions. That’s the whole point a remake.
All my fav scenes…oliver was in them, it was nice to see Clark on a little awkward down time.
